Video: "The One"- Modulare DJ-Software , NAMM 2012

Eine neue DJ-Software namens THE ONE sorgte schon vor der NAMM-Show 2012 mit einem Teaservideo für Aufsehen. Bis dahin war noch nicht bekannt, wer die Macher sind. Jetzt ist es offiziell, dass der finnische Controller-Hersteller EKS dahinter steckt. EKS hatte wohl bisher mit dem Otus am meisten Aufsehen erregt. Die neue Software wurde auf der NAMM am Mixware-Stand von Sales & Marketing Manager Sulevi Seppänen präsentiert. Das Interessante an THE ONE ist die frei gestaltbare, modulare Softwareoberfläche, die es erlaubt Decks, Mixer, Effekte, etc. auf dem Bildschirm nach dem eigenen Geschmack anzuordnen. Zusätzlich ist es möglich im Live-Betrieb das Audiomaterial zu bearbeiten, d.h. Copy, Paste, Slicen, Loopen und Timestretching können direkt angewendet werden ohne den laufend Track dabei zu stoppen. Diese Features gab es bisher nur bei Sequenzern und dürfte das Verschmelzen von DJing und Liveact um ein Weiteres anfeuern. Das Routing der Effekte und der Decks kann individuell angepasst werden. Laut Sulevi benötigt die Software nur eine geringe CPU-Last. THE ONE wird voraussichtlich im März/April 2012 für 49,- Euro erhältlich sein. Bereits jetzt sind schon für einige Controller von Fremdherstellern Mappings fertig und die Liste soll kontinuierlich ausgebaut werden. Über eine Midi-Learn-Funktion können aber auch individuelle Mappings angelegt werden. Da EKS selbst Hardware-Hersteller ist, wird es bis zum Sommer 2012 einen All-in-One Controller geben, d.h. THE ONE wird in diesem Controller integriert und per Touchscreen gesteuert werden können. Wahrscheinlich wird es diesen Controller namens "THE LAB" schon auf der Musikmesse (März 2012) in Frankfurt zu sehen geben.

The One's modular audio routing system allows effects and mixers to be assigned to anywhere in the audio chain - meaning that effects can be placed between players and mixer, or used as master effects.

The One is also designed to fully utilize the possibilities offered by today’s and tomorrow’s DJ controllers via advanced midi mapping possibilities.
